There are two types of collectors;

• Thematic
• Country collectors.

You can choose if you want to be a thematic collector (where you collect stamps which are of the same theme or topic) or a country collector, where you can collect stamps showing everything about a particular country.

Other words to learn about stamp collection

• Overprint
  An overprint is made on a stamp when we want to change the use of a stamp or add new messages to it.
  
  
• First Day Cover (FDC)
  A first day cover is an envelope which has a set of stamps cancelled with a special date stamp showing the date on which the stamps were released.

• Miniature Sheet or Souvenir Sheet
  A miniature sheet is single stamp or a set of stamps that are put together in a small sheet format. The stamps in the sheet are collector’s item and are rarely used as postage but the whole sheet can be affixed to an envelope (cover) for postage.
