You simply apply for a Permit Mail number that we will issue within 1 working day. Use your Permit Mail impression and number on your letter mail items.

• Permit Mail saves time and increases efficiency

By using pre-printed envelopes, your mail items are processed and dispatched quickly in any of our three Sort Centres.

• Permit Mail saves you money

If you regularly mail  500 or more letters per lodgement, you may qualify for additional discounts on normal postage if  you pre-sort your mail i.e. if mail is sorted by destination, by size of envelope and if all mail items are facing the same direction. 

PERMIT MAIL CONDITIONS

All Permit Mail users must apply for and receive a Permit Mail number and specifications from BotswanaPost before they can use the service.

All Permit Mail customers must have their Permit Mail impressions and number pre-approved by BotswanaPost before using the same.

Permit Mail is only accepted at pre-approved lodgement points that include the three Sort Centres at Poso House in Gaborone, Tatitown in Francistown and Pota Post Office in Palapye and pre-approved Post Offices.

We will provide you with our Post Office Box database to enable you to pre-sort your mail correctly.

No Permit Mail items must be placed in a posting box; they must be lodged over the counter at a Post Office or at any Sort Centre.
