Fresh water is one of the most precious resources in Botswana and wetlands contribute directly by producing this valuable commodity. This stamp issue releases 5 stamps on the Okavango Delta, Botswana's prime wildlife location. Described as "an isolated paradise in a hostile environment", the Okavango watercourse rises in the Angolan uplands and eventually flows over the Kalahari sandveld in an immense, fan-shaped inland delta.
