Beetles which are commonly refered to as dikhukhwane in Setswana are insects which fall within the order Coleoptera, meaning "horny-winged." This is the largest order in the entire animal kingdom varying in shapes, sizes and colours. In Botswana beetles occupy different environments from the swampy areas of the delta to the sandy hot desert
